Mod 7 Discussion: Data Action

The suggestion I’m selecting is: 

1. Review data as it works into the PLC mission, vision, goals and objectives, critical questions. Examples of data include student work artifacts, student work samples, formative and summative assessment data, curriculum maps, lesson plans, unit plans, state and/or national standards.

My district is very data-driven, so at every weekly PLC meeting, data is brought in and discussed. It is the experience that data is collected daily through informal assessment. Based on our student data, our plans will be edited to allow for time when students are not mastering skills as quickly as anticipated or when we can progress more quickly. This data is essential to plan our grade level’s path forward. By analyzing this information, we can create student groups, remediate, enrich, and address learning gaps in the classroom.
