Preparation for creating a culture-friendly classroom begins at home. Familiarizing yourself with what the learners enjoy, struggle with, and even trends is an amazing first step. I try my best to keep a broad interest in music and listen to songs of all cultures; or, watch some of the things that previous years learners have suggested to me. Now, do I thoroughly enjoy everything I have seen/heard? No. But at least understanding their jargon to an extent helps me better understand them.
