This ELL student would be afforded the opportunity to work in small groups because most students learn quite well from their peers. I would provide constant clarification and supplemental resources that include graphic organizers. Even though this ELL is almost at grade-level proficiency, it is my opinion that he would also benefit from pre-reading activities to enhance background knowledge of the subject.
