Mod 19 Discussion: Taking the Lead on Literacy

The one content area approach that appears in every area is vocabulary. This would be the topic that I would recommend for my colleagues to use, as every subject has vocabulary. Whether its writing, art, music, PE, reading, math or science, knowing what terms mean in relation to the subject is important for further understanding. Especially when it comes to ELL students, pre-reading or pre-activity vocabulary becomes extremely important for comprehension and retention of knowledge.
