The most important takeaway of the video for group work is to have explicit instructions for the students. Going over the expectations of group work is essential in making sure the students know what they are supposed to be doing and that they know what is expected of them. Having specific jobs for each student in the group (scribe, presenter, researcher, etc) will also keep them on track with their work and allow them to be successful in the group task. Group work is a good way to have all students engaged in the lesson and give them time to have meaningful conversation and build their communication skills.
