Mod 7 Discussion: Data Action

In PLC, the 2nd grade team reviews how are students scored in exit tickets as well as concepts that students struggled with. We also discuss additional strategies we may have to teach our students to better understand a topic. For example in PLC, my coworker and I noticed that in the unit of math on adding 3 digit numbers, there was not much additional practice on adding 3 digit numbers. Some students were scoring low on the exit tickets. My coworker and I decided to include more practice on adding 3 digit numbers and I had the students use whiteboards to write out the numbers. After practicing this skill a few times, students as a whole began to score higher on exit tickets and other students who mastered the skill were able to help their peers on this topic.
