The student is in the beginning stage of writing. To move this student to the intermediate stage, I would allow student to use Spanish/American dictionaries. Student is then able to compare his language to ours and make sentences that have more meaning.  This student has a little better vocabulary than the beginner students. He still needs further vocabulary development as he begins to explore the use of newly taught words. This student keeps a log of vocabulary words as we learn new words in new readings.
