Mod 5 Discussion: Formal and Informal Assessments

One formative assessment that I have used in the past is the gallery walk and the thumbs up thumbs down method. I feel as though the thumbs up method allows for me to get a quick glimpse of my trajectory of the lesson. As far as the gallery walk goes, it is more for the student to gauge their understanding by seeing how other students also responded. 

A formative assessment I would like to use more in the future is the backwards book walk strategy. This will not only be helpful for general education students to understand a text before its even read but also will promote understanding for ELL students as well.
