Throughout this program, one point that has been continuously reiterated has been that ELL students are very visual.  I think this was highlighted in this particular lesson snippet because not only were the students supposed to look at pictures to better understand the text, but they were also shown thinking maps/charts and they had to fill in their own thinking into those charts.  I liked that the instruction fluctuated between whole group and partner work, with partners being assigned based on need.  I have used these strategies in my own classrooms and they've been very effective.  I also loved the collaboration between the two teachers, and whil not every school and classroom setting has the ability to have coteachers, collaborating with your grade level teachers can really help you apply new teaching strategies into your teaching that you may not have thought of on your own.
