I loved that the two teachers incorporated music and movement into their lessons. Not only did the english speaking teacher use kinetic learning by having her students move around the room to find the words during the memory game, but then to facilitate deeper understanding, once the word was found, the students had to perform that action. Using movement in order to help students make those vocabulary connections is a really powerful tool that I use regularly in my classroom.
I also loved that the bilingual teacher used a song with hand motions during her mandarin lesson with her students, allowing them to more easily connect the vocabulary to the animal name they were learning. Being exposed to the collaborative teaching methods of each teacher helped keep students interested in what they were learning, which again helps facilitate a deeper understanding of the lessons. I really liked how the teachers collaborated to expose both classes to unique experiences, and I think that introducing teaching methods like the ones shown in the video into my own classroom could be extremely beneficial for my kiddos.
