It's critical to sustain high levels of family involvement so I would be reaching out for support, suggestions, information as it pertains to existing cultures, backgrounds, etc.  The classroom should be inviting to all that share the common space.  I would have items/posters/etc on the walls in the room that reflect the class make up.  Word walls, diversity centers, class library and have items labels in multiple languages.  The class will foster opportunities for students to celebrate diversity, cultural holidays, and special occasions.
